Harrolds Cottages Booking Terms and Conditions

  • All information given on the web site and verbally is given in good faith. The owner will not knowingly give incorrect information.

  • Bookings made by telephone and/or e mail will be held for the next four days. Bookings must be accompanied by the booking form, enclosing a 30% deposit. The balance is payable at least 2 full calendar months before your holiday is due to begin.

  • If the booking is less than two full months before your start holiday date, the full amount is payable upon booking.

  • If a booking is cancelled in writing at least 2 calendar months before your holiday start date, the owner will try to re-let the property. If successful your deposit (less a £45 + vat administration fee for each week booked) will be returned. If unsuccessful sadly the deposit will be forfeited.

  • If a booking is cancelled in writing less than 2 calendar months before your holiday start date, the full published price becomes payable immediately. We will try to re let the cottage for you. If we are able to re-let your money will be refunded (less a £45 + vat administration fee for each week booked). If unsuccessful sadly the full holiday cost will be forfeited.

  • We would seriously recommend you take out independent insurance to insure against the unlikely event of you having to make a cancellation and not being able to take your holiday.

  • The owner or his representative has the right to enter at any reasonable time the holiday property to carry out any urgent or necessary repairs or maintenance.

  • If in the unlikely event that the property becomes unavailable to let by the owner due to unforseen circumstances, the owner reserves the right to offer an alternative holiday date to be agreed between the hirer and the owner. If this cannot be achieved a full refund will be issued.

  • If a serious complaint arises between the hirer and the owner – with regards to cleanliness or damage for example – either during arrival or at the commencement of your holiday the complaint must be brought to the attention of the owner or his representative as soon as possible (within 24 hours). If a complaint arises otherwise regarding the property the owner will investigate and attempt to rectify any problem which may occur. No recompense or dispute can be investigated after the holiday party has left if the problem has not been communicated to the owner or his representative.

  • The owner will make every effort to ensure your holiday cottage and your holiday at Harrolds is a happy and comfortable one. However, should conditions or restrictions be applied to the holiday – eg floods, power cuts, water cuts, drought etc – outside the control of the owner – no liability will be accepted by the owner for such occurrences.

  • Under no circumstances can the prescribed number of persons per property be exceeded. Harrolds is a tranquil private country setting. Sorry, but we do not allow loud parties or accept large single sex bookings such as for Hen or Stag parties. Any requests for single sex bookings must be made in writing giving full details to the owner.

  • The named hirer is responsible for the holiday property, the keys and its contents. He/she shall take good care of it, keeping it clean and tidy. Any damage or breakages caused by the holiday party or others must be reported to the owner as soon as possible and pay/replace and damage or breakages caused.

  • Pets. We have a flock of sheep and a Springer spaniel. Sadly we do not accept pets.

  • Smoking. All our cottages and the mobile home are strictly non-smoking. The smoking of cigarettes may of course take place outside the cottages. However we ask you to dispose of cigarette ends in the rubbish bins.

  • Bedlinen will be provided in each cottage. However please note, towels and tea towels are not provided. A change of bed linen will be provided only if requested for bookings of two weeks or more. Please state clearly on your booking form if you wish a change of bed linen to be carried out if booked for two weeks or more

  • Cots and high chairs can be made available at hire cost (See Booking Form). The owner can arrange this providing this is requested on the booking form. Please note no linen is supplied for cots.

  • Central Heating and fuel costs. Electricity and fuel oil for hot water is included in cost. Sadly due to the high cost of heating oil, we have to make a small charge for heating during October to May: Barn £32, Granary £24, Stables and Granary Cottage £18. (60% rate for 3 day mini-breaks). Logs for woodburner, starter pack provided - for the first day or so. Logs at cost after that, £5 per heaped barrow load.

  • Please print these terms and coniditions off for your reference.
